Finding the right therapist is an important part of therapy and can make all the difference. I hope this information will let you know a little bit more about me, what I do, how/why I do it and why I’m great at it! If you feel we would be a good fit, then please contact us to schedule an appointment.

Why Be a Therapist?

I became a therapist because I have always been deeply moved by the human experience and the complexities of emotions. From a young age, I was drawn to understanding people’s struggles and supporting them through challenges. Over time, I realized that my greatest strength lies in empathy— the ability to truly connect with others, listen without judgment, and feel with them, rather than for them. This allows me to create a safe, compassionate space where clients feel heard and validated. Empathy means more than just understanding someone’s words; it’s about sensing the emotions behind them and offering both presence and perspective. By using this strength, I help people navigate their difficulties, find clarity, and ultimately grow into the best version of themselves.

What Kind of Therapist Am I?

My therapy style is integrative, client-centered, and highly adaptable, drawing from a variety of therapeutic modalities to best meet each individual’s unique needs and preferences. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing, so I blend techniques from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, mindfulness, and strength-based approaches. For clients looking to challenge unhelpful thought patterns or develop practical skills for managing emotions and behaviors, I incorporate structured CBT tools. For those who benefit from deeper self-exploration, I create a nonjudgmental, empathetic space rooted in person-centered therapy, allowing clients to explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace. I also integrate mindfulness practices to promote present-moment awareness and emotional regulation, helping clients stay grounded, particularly during times of stress or anxiety. Additionally, I emphasize a strength-based approach, focusing on the resilience and inherent strengths each client brings to their healing journey. Whether a client is seeking practical strategies, emotional insight, or personal growth, I use these diverse tools to provide a tailored and supportive approach that fosters lasting change and empowers each individual to thrive.

What Makes Me Qualified?

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Eastern Michigan University, which I completed in 2019. My undergraduate experience was exceptionally formative, as it introduced me to the essential concepts of racial inequality, privilege, the patriarchy, intersectionality, and gender norms. These foundational topics continue to shape my perspective as a clinician, helping me approach therapy with a deep understanding of the complex social forces that influence individual and collective experiences. I went on to earn my Master's in Social Work from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 2021. My graduate studies provided me with invaluable hands-on experience working with people of color, where I refined my therapeutic skills, deepened my understanding of various modalities, and learned how to create a safe, supportive space that fosters healing and enhances the overall quality of life for my clients. After completing my graduate degree, I immediately began working as a therapist and quickly discovered a passion for helping individuals navigate anxiety, relationship challenges, and life transitions. This work sparked my deep interest in couples therapy, and I am now committed to specializing in that area, working with couples to strengthen their connections and enhance their relationships

When I’m Not Working?

When I’m not working, I love to explore new places and connect with my roots by visiting family across the Middle East and North Africa. I’m fortunate to have loved ones in Egypt, Morocco, Turkey, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Lebanon, and I enjoy immersing myself in the rich, diverse cultures of each country. Whether it's sipping mint tea in Morocco, visiting the ancient pyramids in Egypt, or strolling through the lively streets of Beirut, I find joy in the vibrant traditions, food, and landscapes that make each place unique. Adventure is at the heart of my travels—whether it’s hiking in the Turkish countryside or discovering hidden gems in the souks of Syria. When I'm not on a plane, I’m cooking traditional middle eastern dishes for my family and friends. I cherish quality time with my loved ones, and my two cats, who remind me daily of the importance of quality connection and reciprocated acceptance. These moments of joy, whether in the kitchen, on an adventure, or at home with loved ones, fuel my passion for life and keep me grounded.
