Finding the right therapist is an important part of therapy and can make all the difference. I hope this information will let you know a little bit more about me, what I do, how/why I do it and why I’m great at it! If you feel we would be a good fit, then please contact us to schedule an appointment.

Why Be a Therapist?

I feel very lucky that I became a therapist. At this point in my life, it feels like a calling that I
get more passionate about as time goes on. We all go through struggles, pain, and
darkness. I’ve always been passionate about how to turn this darkness and pain into
strength. How can we juice the hard times for all the wisdom that they hold. My passion
comes from going through my own personal struggles and learning to heal from those. I
found therapy very instrumental in my growth, having someone to lean on, to help grow and
to hold you accountable to yourself. I’ve been told by friends that I’m someone who seems
to understand and who they feel safe with talking about their painful parts of life. I love being
this way for people, I love seeing people grow and blossom, and it gives me a ton of
gratitude to be a piece of someone’s life every day.

What Kind of Therapist Am I?

I see therapy like a puzzle, where you have all the pieces, and together we put the puzzle
together. I aim to make my space as comfortable and open as possible, especially when
talking about some of our darker parts. I’m very direct and I like to work at your pace, while
also pushing you closer to your own edges, encouraging you to grow past your comfort
zones. I like to bring humor into anything I can, so laughing is welcome. My vibe is not of a
doctor, or stuffy psychologist, so please joke around and be you! As always it is a judgment
free zone. Neurodivergents welcome!

I approach everyone differently since everyone has a different story. I seek to understand
everyone’s story, often taking a look towards our beginnings, where our beliefs and
behaviors first started. I like to equip people with skills to change their thinking, behaviors,
ways of talking to themselves, ways of processing emotions, and dealing with stress. I use
these skills to help people build their resilience and understanding of themselves in order to

go deeper in all aspects of their lives. I focus on building new narratives, uncovering where
our limited beliefs come from, and putting in the work to change these beliefs that no longer
serve us. Out with the old, in with the new, if it doesn’t serve us, then how can we let it go.

I’m constantly learning and adding to my practice, so therapy with me is an always evolving
process. I’m trained in CBT, DBT, and have experience working with people in psychosis,
depression, anxiety, addictions, and relationship issues. These areas are my specialty but I
work with people on many other things as well! I work best with people who are ready to
grow and want to help themselves.

What Makes Me Qualified?

I’ve always been fascinated by psychology, what makes us tick, why we did the things we
do, patterns that span across lifetimes. I got my degree in psychology and Masters in Social
work at Michigan State University in 2019. I’ve been trained in CBT, DBT, and continue to
learn the ever-evolving sciences around the brain, trauma, the body, and how it's all
connected. I love psychologists like Gabor Mate, Bessel Van Der Kolk, Gottman, and
Richard Schwartz. I’ve spent time interning in the family court system. I’ve spent many
years working with at risk juveniles as both a mentor in mentorship programs, and in the
juvenile detention system. These experiences have helped shape my view of the realities of
a lot of people’s lives, the traumas and different struggles we as people can face. I’ve been
a therapist since 2019 and continue to grow by hearing all the stories of the people who
come through my door and allow me to be a part of my life. I’m working towards becoming
CCTP (certified clinical trauma professional) certified and education in Compassionate
Inquiry.

When I’m Not Working?

I’m running for hours outside, getting ready for a marathon or some other type of race.
Spending time with friends, joking around about life and playing games. Traveling to cool
places outside like mountains and streams! I’ve been obsessed with movies since I was
little, so a perfect self-care evening is the movie theater alone with snuck-in-snacks. I love
tattoos, music festivals, and all things weird and artistic. Give me any movie
recommendations or your thoughts on a movie!
